S88-compliant batch systems make your process totally programmable with recipes.
Batch systems, compliant with ISA’s S-88 Standard, are solving quality, yield and time-to-market problems for manufacturers. These control systems create a truly programmable production facility. New products and variations on old products can be programmed with a new recipe to define each process step, automatic or manual, that is to be executed in real time. The Batch Program translates this recipe into controller directives for automatic operation and data collection or manual instructions for operator execution. Results of these directives and instructions are recorded into the Electronic Batch Record for production management, analysis, regulatory reports or product liability protection.
Customers report a quantum increase in the ease of fine tuning process steps and introducing new products. Just write a recipe based upon scale-up rules, produce a batch, test the results (show it to the buyer) adjust the recipe where needed and you're ready for production runs. No PLC code changes are required. Data is collected about the process when wanted and automatically kept in context with the process steps.
